‼️ZELENSKYY GAVE A FIRST COMMENT TO JOURNALISTS ON THE G7-UKRAINE MEETING: among other things they discussed with Trump the possibly for Kyiv to obtain the licenses to produce the necessary anti-ballistic systems and missiles.
FULL TRANSCRIPTION OF THE ZELENSKYY’S COMMENT:
First of all, I want to say that everyone is supporting Ukraine. In my opinion, it's a really important signal that all the G7 countries, and this was evident during our summit today, fully support Ukraine.
All countries have condemned the strikes on civilian infrastructure, our people, and Lavra (Cathedral) Everyone saw it; I showed them some photographs of the attacks and fires, and how our guys heroically stopped the fire. And everyone condemns it, and really, no one understands the logic of Russia's aggressive non-leader.
Everyone thinks that, in any case, the war must be stopped. It makes sense. Everyone thinks that they don’t see a desire from Russia’s side, and that Russia is playing games. First and foremost, Putin doesn't want to end this, but we need to make him stop. Primarily through sanctions. All countries said this, including Canada and Britain.
You know, that I especially thanked to Keir (Starmer). They blocked the (Russian) shadow fleet tanker, and all the countries will start doing it and take appropriate steps.
We talked about what Ukraine needs. Air defense — everyone acknowledges it’s needed and will help with it. The entire Group of Seven will work to strengthen our defense. We discussed both (air defense) systems and missiles. Well, for now, no details on this; more details can come later.
Next, I brought up the question; we discussed it with President Trump. Our teams will work on this. God willing, this time we'll get the licenses to produce the necessary anti-ballistic systems and missiles.
Then, we talked about the energy package, and the President of France raised this issue. All of us understand, Ursula and Antonio, we need additional funds to physically secure our facilities and we need air defense. That's what I said. Diesel, gas, and gasoline are what we need for winter. If the war doesn't end and there's a shortage, all our partners will support. I've called it a 'winter package' and explained in detail what we need. All countries said they will support us: Japan, Germany, and all other participants at the summit today.
France separately stated it understands the dangers of drone strikes used by Russia and will rebuild the Chornobyl sarcophagus. I thanked them for that.
Separately, I want to thank—not remind, but thank—Switzerland. Yesterday evening, I met with the president and we discussed the restoration of Lavra; they, along with our specialists, will work on it. Thanks to Switzerland for such an initiative and support.
Regarding the EU, everyone understands Ukraine is making progress despite the war. The Group of Seven supports our EU membership. And Ursula and António, everyone agrees that it was absolutely the right thing to open the clusters, and all of them will be open. So far, nobody sees any slowdowns in this process. God willing, may it stay that way.
We're going to work on the Drone Deal. That's good. Everyone acknowledges our leadership in supporting the Middle East. Thanks to our expertise, we'll be doing a big Drone Deal with Canada.
Also, we can already see how our mid-strike and long-range sanctions are impacting the limitation of energy resource sales by the Russian Federation. They have big problems.
Everyone admits they (Russians) need to end this war urgently. Well, otherwise, the aid for Ukraine will only increase.
