Imagine a Purkinje cell firing. Not as a dot on a graph. As a tree of light, branches illuminating from trunk to tip in 0.3 milliseconds.
Now imagine five different neuron types doing this simultaneously, talking to each other through synapses that pulse when they transmit.

Next: synthetic networks. Take 50 of these neurons, connect them with realistic wiring, and let gradient descent find the dynamics. Or define the dynamics you want and let it wire the network for you.

The fact that you could imagine those branches lighting up required billions of neurons in your cortex to do exactly what this simulation does.
Every human has 86 billion of these. We can simulate five on a laptop. The distance between those two numbers is the frontier. And it's open to anyone with a GPU and curiosity.
