Devlog: Convoy Ambush Mechanics! 🚚💥 I’ve been cooking up a brand-new ambush mission for my game. Check out the vehicle destruction in action! 🎥 Here is what I've implemented: 🧠 Smart Convoy AI: Logistics vehicles now navigate along assigned routes. 💥 Total Destruction: Implemented full truck destruction, including lethal explosion damage to the crew inside. 🏃‍♂️ Fight or Flight: If a vehicle takes non-lethal damage, the crew will immediately ditch it and engage you in combat. ⏳ The Setup: The mission starts with a countdown phase for you to prepare the kill zone before the convoy rolls into the sector. 🗺 I need your feedback! Right now, I'm working on the level design for the ambush map. I'd love to know: what kind of mechanics or tools would you want to use to trap the convoy? Devlog: AI Driving & Convoy Ambush Prep! 🛠 Hello everyone! 👋 I’ve just taught the AI how to enter and exit vehicles. Now, your NPC squadmates will follow you by car! 🚗💨 Here is what’s left on my list to pull off a convoy ambush mission: 1️⃣ VFX: Working on explosions and destruction effects for the RPG, grenades, and rifles already in-game. 2️⃣ Enemy Driver AI: Configuring specialized "Driver" NPC to navigate routes while reacting to danger—they’ll hop out and engage in combat if ambushed. 3️⃣ Ambush Mission Level Design: Designing a map with multiple convoy routes to keep replayability high. Transport and military vehicles are coming to the game! 🏎💨 To build an "Ambush the Convoy" mission, I've implemented vehicle mechanics. Player controls are live, and NPCs are next! This opens up so many possibilities: 🛡 Enemy reinforcements arriving in armored cars 💥 Players hijacking vehicles for devastating strikes I’m focusing on quality, so I’ve been polishing the contextual entry/exit animations for that extra layer of immersion. 🛠 I’ve also added tire destruction! Shooting out the wheels slows the vehicle down—perfect for setting up an ambush or when you need to capture the cargo intact. 🎯💥 I’d love your feedback! Hello everyone! To streamline future localization, the primary development of my game is done in English. I recently spent four full days translating over 3,100 words from English into Ukrainian. Honestly, I didn’t expect so much text content to have accumulated already—mission descriptions, inventory items, various settings, and UI elements. I’m happy to announce that Ukrainian localization has been added to the new demo version! 🚀 Demo Update: The Global Map & Logistics Overhaul Hello everyone! I’ve spent the last 4 months refining the AI and polishing the game's core. The new demo version now provides a clear look at the direction the game is headed. The heart of the game takes place on the Global Map. Your mission is to prevent the enemy from seizing allied settlements and to help your forces liberate occupied ones. To succeed, you’ll need to develop your squad, choose your targets wisely, and execute missions with precision. 🏘 Settlements and Siege Settlements are composed of key locations: warehouses, railway stations, and factories. You must control all of them to take over a settlement. 📦 Logistics is King War is won through supply lines. Settlements use resources—food, water, and more—to generate Global Map units. Supply Squads: Settlements physically move resources between locations via transport units. Economic Sabotage: Intercepting or destroying these supply squads cripples the enemy's logistics. Military Collapse: If a settlement runs out of resources, it can no longer form units to defend itself or launch new assaults. 🛠 What’s Coming Next? I’m currently working on features not yet in the public build: Espionage: Recruit agents and infiltrate operatives to gather intel or perform covert missions within enemy locations. Hi everyone! For the assault missions in my game, I really want to incorporate trenches. Trenches are one of the oldest types of fortifications. The problem is that the Unreal Engine Landscape isn't very well-suited for this task: 1) It requires labor-intensive 'dressing' of the trench edges with 3D earth models to hide ugly, stretched materials. 2) Moving, modifying, or reusing trenches within a Landscape is extremely time-consuming. After struggling with it for a while, I decided to switch from Landscapes to voxels. Voxels are 3D pixels that allow for vertical 'walls' of dirt or stone, requiring almost no additional masking with 3D models.Beyond just trenches, I have successfully adapted voxels for road placement and heavy vehicle mud tracks. Currently, I’m working on adapting my Unreal PCG forest spawners for voxels. Since voxels support real-time terrain deformation, it opens up the possibility for players to build trenches themselves. It’s thrilling to imagine how player-built trenches, minefields, and firing positions could help stop an enemy assault.#topdown #stealth #action #tacticalgaming #indiegames #games

Devlog: Outpost Buildings Hello! I want to demonstrate the progress in the development of building Outpost Buildings. A well-equipped outpost serves as a base of operations for your fighters. At outposts, fighters can heal from injuries, sleep, and craft and upgrade weapons and equipment. To build outpost buildings, you need materials, which can be purchased in the store. Buildings are placed in empty placeholder cells of the outpost. In addition to resources, construction requires workers. I want to demonstrate the progress in developing resource management, trade, and the hunger and dehydration mechanics. Resources necessary to maintain the combat readiness of the squad can be obtained through trade and by completing missions. The most important resources are food and water. Their shortage leads to a decrease in the squad's combat readiness and even the death of fighters from hunger or dehydration. It is also necessary to consider the resource storage capacity in the squad and at the outposts.
