Souls is the worst franchise to say this with because there's an interview where the team directly admits that the suffering that comes with playing is directly tied to the artistic vision of the experience.
Like there r people out there who haven’t touched Elden Ring mechanically who can school me on obscure facts and implications abt the world from built, but because I played 900 hours and they played 0 they’re less valid then me?? Idk man

Souls is the worst example. How do you watch someone else beat the bosses, discover the secrets and create the build and still think your word is more valid.
These are the people that think Souls have bad storytelling because you have to play them to get most details.
