People often call America a “propositional nation”—one defined purely by shared ideas such as freedom of speech, the right to bear arms, and republican self-government, rather than by blood or ancestry. Yet we never revoke citizenship from those who openly reject these very principles. In practice, though, does anyone truly believe that a person whose ancestors arrived on the Mayflower in 1620 is equally “American” as someone who arrived from Somalia 15 years ago? I believe deeper historical roots confer greater legitimacy. It’s not the only factor, but it’s not irrelevant. The Founders of this nation established it for themselves and their posterity. What else could that phrase mean? Newer arrivals who integrate, marry into long-established families, and embrace the nation’s traditions are like fresh branches grafted onto an older tree—they strengthen and extend it. But those who have arrived in recent years—legally or illegally—with the primary goal of exploiting, looting, or fundamentally transforming the country function more like invasive weeds. They must be removed if the original tree is to thrive.

Two hundred and fifty years ago today — on May 17th, 1776 — the Second Continental Congress called for a day of humiliation, fasting, and prayer. Today, exactly 250 years later, we gather to do the same. To humbly ask once more for God's mercy and guidance — as we enter the next 250 years of this republic.

If you believe free speech is for you but not your political opponents, you're illiberal. If no contrary evidence could change your beliefs, you're a fundamentalist. If you believe the state should punish those with contrary views, you're a totalitarian. If you believe political opponents should be punished with violence or death, you're a terrorist.

Woman who went to work for the social services department said she started out as a full liberal, but by the time she left the job, she came out a Republican. She says that through anyone’s Social Security number who applied for benefits, she was able to tell whether a person was working, owned property or cars, the status of their bank accounts, and their salary. However, she says there is a loophole that allows illegal aliens without a Social Security number to also apply for benefits such as food stamps, healthcare, housing, WIC, and childcare. If these illegals had children, their kids would receive benefits as well. According to her, the department had no way to verify whether these immigrants had income, owned property, or how much money they made. She claims that illegal immigrant parents would receive $1,200 per child, plus $275 per person in cash assistance and food stamps, not mentioning free housing or other benefits. She also says that some people applying for benefits would show up with their hair and nails done, carrying expensive accessories and driving luxury cars. Meanwhile, American citizens often would not qualify for the same benefits. She added that this exists especially in liberal-led states like California, where leadership does not put regulations in place and allows this kind of fraud and abuse, while hard-working citizens are left to pay the bill. If this doesn’t make you angry, I don’t know what will.
