This is insane. It looks like the Ethereum Foundation has been spending roughly $100m/yr for the last 4 years on operations and expenses. This looks like an insider circle jerk where the people at the top are making tons of money, and likely paying themselves fat salaries, but producing NO MEANINGFUL PRODUCTS. lol it wouldn’t surprise me if this is where Charles got the $100m/yr budget from. Reminder Ethereum wasted 5yrs on L2s (and BILLIONS of dollars) before saying “oh wait this didn’t work and we need a new path” For all I know Ethereum will be okay long term. It depends on whether institutions decide to use it as a part of their stack. But as of right now this just looks like more of the same. Incompetent people getting paid millions of dollars and delivering NOTHING. Suggestion to @VitalikButerin - get rid of all the leeches. Create y’all’s own cloud engine. 🧵 Cardano founding entities got $150m over the last 2 years Let’s assume Dfinity were to need that much. And Dfinity ACTUALLY has the largest R&D team. And ICP can host full web apps and AI. And already has a private, enterprise cloud service model that is being adopted by Pakistan. It’s lightyears of Cardano in every way. And Cardano launched 5yrs before ICP. At $3 per ICP. They’d need to dump 50 million ICP on centralized exchanges. There’s only 60m ICP total on exchanges right now and a decent % of that is illiquid. Imagine if we watched 50m ICP dumped on exchanges in 2 years *solely* to fund operations. Not including node provider rewards, voting rewards, other general selling.
