Santa is really excited to be visiting Holgate Windmill on Saturday 2nd/ Sunday 3rd and Saturday 9th/Sunday 10th December from 2 to 4 each day. The cost is ÂŁ6 per child and includes a present from Santa. No need to book but please be aware it can get busy!

After years of milling the floor of the mill needs a good clean! Today all the furniture has all moved outside and the mill is ready for work to start!! At the end of the day all the furniture will need to be moved back in. Thank you to all those you turned up to help.

Thank you so very much to this young man, Aidan who visited the mill today n Friday with his family and very kindly bought the millers some lovely Spiced Apple Cake, made with Holgate wheat flour, one of the recipes out of our Holgate Windmill recipe book!! Delicious!!

Lovely to read in the Romford Recorder that Upminster Windmill has reopened to the public after an 8 year restoration project! Since 2015, The mill has undergone major restoration work and it is once again in full working order. Very well done all the volunteers!

Did you know this month is Soudough September? Our flour makes an excellent soudough starter. An interesting fact a bakery called Chrissi's Farmhouse Bakery uses it and said, “This noble starter dates back 900 years” and many people even take theirs on holiday!!!
