Insane call on the challenge

What an inane point. We've been told repeatedly over the last ten years that most players have uplift clauses that give them salary adjustments when the cap rises...
The growth of the salary cap in the last decade. Why Richmond should keep splashing the cash, whether it is this year’s Zak Butters or Tom Green or any of the other pre agents from 2027. AFL revenue exploded last year too so the next pay deal should feature another healthy lift

Content aside, what the fuck is our media manager doing sending the head coach onto a fan podcast, let alone mid-season.
Why do we kick down the line in games? I asked Adem Yze exactly that question and he explains the reason in the video below!

Back half is good tbf, but the fact that this highlights package starts with a bunch of blind blast kicks from clearance had me cackling.

I know the AA team is more closely correlated to team success, than individual. I know media lists are bait factories. And yet despite these facts, I'm out here mad they put the wrong Perth-based Reid in there.

Catnip for nuffie Essendon supporters who think all their former one-note draftees were actually thwarted stars of the competition, hard done by bad coaches past... Bring back Hobbs! Only Hirdy can save the youth!
“Hirdy just gave me so much self-belief and confidence and I think connection is the most important thing for a coach to have nowadays.” How James Hird helped former Bomber Ben Hobbs rekindle his passion for the game. heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/f…

Can anyone remember what it was like to watch young hopeless Rance? Was he like Trainor or was the experience more like bipolar brilliance/stupidty?

"If I'm the best man for the job, yes, I would love to do that job." James Hird responds to whether he wants to coach Essendon again, advocating for the club to undergo the most 'exhaustive process possible'. #9FootyClassified | Watch on 9 & 9Now 🖥️

Maybe Hird's unrealistic. Maybe I should settle for the comedy of Dean Solomon going from board member to head coach in 9 months. Long live the boys club. May they 'learn' from this Brad Scott era and never bring in another outside voice ever again.

You've simply got to do it
“There is a very, very strong push from a lot of people out there to get James back at Essendon, coaching.” - Tim Watson Dean Solomon to be asked whether he wants to be interim coach. Another payout for the Bombers, but the view was the losses mounted, the team had not improved and the uncompetitive periods were unsustainable. What does it mean for Zach Merrett?

Ask for a Smilie related assistance package now before everyone realises he was always gonna be a bust
Richmond hoping for 75K tonight at Dreamtime after recently dropping the game as fully ticketed. Have confirmed they won’t be asking for AFL special draft assistance despite a likely third bottom two finish in a row (fair enough too!) and confirmed their two year Tassie deal is a one off. Disconnect between internal and external valuation is a chasm. No ball knower expected anything of substance from Essendon this season, but no one in club management has the strength of will to get their fans (read:coterie members), or apparently players, onboard with reality.

"There's a sense of confusion among senior players at Essendon tonight asking just where this rebuild is at, and where is the end point." Mitch Cleary on Essendon's mixed messaging 👉 7plus.app.link/watch-footy

Enjoy the 2029 play-in final win, fellas. That's as good as it's going to get if you keep pulling these shenanigans.

Worst comms dept in footy, you'd have to say.
Richmond coach Adem Yze has clarified the Tigers hope to play Sam Cumming through the entire 2026 campaign - the plan is post-season surgery on his shoulder rather than mid-season. Yze also keen to persist with Noah Balta as a forward-ruck and excited by the partnership he could form with Toby Nankervis once the skipper returns from his hamstring injury. @FootyonNine @9NewsMelb
