Yesterday we celebrated two years since CARES 3.0 opened its doors! What began as a modest 1,200-square-foot clinic built to help @HopeForPaws save more lives, grew quickly because animals needed more help than ever. Together, we expanded to a 2,500-square-foot hospital, and when even that wasn't enough, you made something extraordinary possible. Because of your compassion and belief in our mission, CARES 3.0 was born: an 11,000-square-foot surgical hospital where lives are saved around the clock, every single day of the year. Every patient who walks through those doors, every emergency surgery, every second chance, and every life saved is part of your legacy. This hospital exists because people like you chose to care, and thousands of animals are alive today because of it. As you can imagine, this is an expensive operation! 3 surgeons, 35 technicians, and this puts so much pressure on us. Kitten season is here, and so many of them get scared, crawl into engines, get separated from their families, and if they are super lucky, someone calls @HopeForPaws for help. I secured the area as best as I could, but this little kitten was too smart for his own good! I'm so happy I managed to secure him after a short chase... I don't understand how these people sleep at night... to just move out, and leave the dog behind as if somehow she would be able to survive on her own. This Memorial Day, we honor the heroes who served our country. ❤️ Today’s story is about G.I. Jane, a homeless dog who found refuge at a remote VA facility, where kindhearted staff members and G.I. Joes made sure she was never forgotten. For weeks, they fed and protected her until one caring nurse reached out to @HopeForPaws for help. Many times we come across dogs that belonged to a homeless person, and that person disappears (many times medical reasons, sometimes arrests, sometimes some other unknown reason). When Magic's owner died, there was no plan for her... she was kept on the property for 11 months as a "guard dog" with no human contact. We only got a call once the property was up for sale and they needed to "get rid of the dog". Please don't think your family would do the right thing for your pets.
