Neda is the founder and CEO of Project DIVA, a non-profit organization committed to the personal and professional development of young Black girls. Neda has been an incredible mentor, big sister, youth advocate and community leader to countless young women.

Maya is an author, artist, social worker, influencer, and activist. She’s responsible for the song and coloring book “Hey, Pretty” and the children’s book “Your Hue Looks Good on You”. She is intentional about Black children recognizing and owning their natural God given beauty.

“Black Girl Joy” is a healing space to celebrate Black women. With all that’s happening in the Twin Cities, it’s important to recognize those who are often at the forefront of organizing, protesting, serving, and protecting the community.

We’ll be honoring leaders who serve in various capacities and sectors, have live performances, free food and more! Although we are exclusively commemorating Black women, all are welcome and encouraged to attend!
