There is a podcast i sometimes listen to. I usually disagree with their opinions, and that's why I listen to it.
Science VS
They did a peptide episode last week and the scientist who isolated MOTSc is interviewed.
Great story. Goes into the naming system, why research was abandoned in 2018, and a ton of other nuanced points.
It's got an overall negative tone towards peptides, but I don't want to be stuck in an echo chamber. So I listen so differing opinions.
Check it out.

MOTS-c the peptide your own mitochondria make

Most peptides are signals you add from the outside MOTS-c is different your body already produces it inside your mitochondria and it acts like an exercise signal in molecular form🏴☠️
Start with what it actually is🏴☠️
Your mitochondria are the engines that turn food into energy and they do not just make power they make signaling molecules too🏴☠️
MOTS-c is one of them it is released under stress like exercise and it tells the rest of your body to get more efficient with fuel🏴☠️
The master switch it flips🏴☠️
MOTS-c activates AMPK the cell's master energy sensor the same pathway that lights up when you train fasted or run low on fuel🏴☠️
When AMPK fires your body shifts from storing to burning it starts pulling fuel out of storage and using it instead of stashing it🏴☠️
In plain terms it flips your metabolism from save mode into spend mode🏴☠️
What that does to glucose🏴☠️
It increases GLUT4 the doorway that lets glucose into your muscle so more sugar gets pulled out of your blood and into the tissue that actually uses it🏴☠️
In research models this drove roughly a 30 percent jump in insulin sensitivity and it works mostly in skeletal muscle where the vast majority of glucose disposal happen🏴☠️
Better insulin sensitivity means your body handles carbs cleaner and stores less of them as fat🏴☠️
The fat loss angle🏴☠️
AMPK activation pushes your cells to burn fat for fuel instead of leaning on glucose which is exactly what you want in a cut🏴☠️
It also supports building new mitochondria more engines means more capacity to burn fuel every workout🏴☠️
Why people stack it with a GLP🏴☠️
A GLP lowers how much fuel is coming in while MOTS-c upgrades how well your body uses the fuel that is there🏴☠️
One cuts the demand the other raises the capacity🏴☠️
This is exactly why my fat loss accelerated when I added MOTS-c into my Reta cycle the upstream signal finally had somewhere to go🏴☠️
The support stack🏴☠️
CoQ10 in ubiquinol form because it is a core cofactor for the energy chain you are pushing harder🏴☠️
PQQ because it supports building the new mitochondria MOTS-c is signaling for🏴☠️
Magnesium glycinate because the usable energy in your cells exists as magnesium bound ATP no magnesium no usable fuel🏴☠️
MOTS-c is one of the most logical compounds in the entire metabolic space if you train hard and want your body to actually use fuel instead of storing it🏴☠️
