Hey @Noah__Goldberg, if you’re supposedly doing “straight reporting”, how has it been days since this happened and yet there’s crickets from you and the rest of the El Segundo Times?

Housing will never be fixed in LA, because - paradoxically - if tenants want better conditions, they have to actually care about their landlords’ bottom line. But instead, they just demonize the housing providers, and for every 1 landlord, you have 100 tenants, so the anti-landlord voting bloc permanently wins out at the ballot box, and insane, destructive housing policies win out, creating insane risks and costs for housing providers who either have to skip repairs and upgrades, or raise rent. The obvious end point here is - of course - government seizure of properties.

Really wild data tracking from @firerebuild. Look at the net swing from late/post-election mail-in ballots. Both Spencer & Bass had yuge net negative swing. Raman had massive spike after losing both normal mail-in and Election Day votes by a wide margin. firerebuild.com/election/

Alan Miller spent $3M to get 3% of the vote for LA Mayor. He obviously never had a chance, but 28,782 anti-Bass/anti-Raman people wasted their vote on him instead of the viable alternative, Pratt. If not for Miller wasting votes, Spencer would lead Raman by 5K votes right now. Miller is a smug, rich asshole who took FireAid money, bankrolled Eric Swalwell, and had the tacit support of fellow impotent, smug, rich asshole, Tricky Ricky Caruso...not only would his ego force him to stay in the hopeless race, but his political advisors undoubtedly lied to him, told him "our internals look good, Alan!"...all so he would keep cutting them checks til the bitter end. They took advantage of him being a rich doofus, and he stayed in the race, siphoning off potential Pratt voters and spoiling the election for sane people who wanted a real change. Miller voters are truly the dumbest motherfuckers in LA. Good work, guys!
