A great image of M31-the Andromeda Galaxy, by HAS member Loyd Overcash. This is the closest large galaxy to ours, and in about 2.5 billion years, it will merge with out own Milky Way galaxy in about 4.5 billion years. Companion galaxies M32 and M110 also shown.

What a beautiful image of NGC 7023, the "Iris Nebula," located in Cepheus. Taken by HAS member Loyd Overcash on 8-4-21 from Ft. Davis, Tx. with an 11" @Celestron Hyperstar f/2 and ZWO 2600mcp camera. Exposure time was 90 minutes taken in 3 minute subs.

One of our favorites, M51 - the Whirlpool Galaxy. M51 is approximately 23 million light years away in the constellation Canes Venatici. Taken by HAS member Loyd Overcash in Fort Davis, TX, using a 14.5" RC and ZWO 1600mmp camera.
