According to experts, the origins of St. Valentine's Day were not romantic but rather violent, beginning with the beheading of St. Valentine by a Roman Emperor in the 3rd century AD. Thanks to Chaucer and Shakespeare, it gradually evolved into a celebration of #love and #romance.

One of the recent projects at the museum involves an Ostrander-Seymour Co. chute board, traditionally used to square plates or smooth the edges of metal processed on the saw. This is a Style A, measuring 12” x 18”, with a squaring plane. #printingmuseum #printinghistory

Let the games begin! The 2026 Milano-Cortina Games open today. Flashback 70 years to the 1956 Winter Olympics, also held in Cortina, where the Canadian contingent won 3 medals. Since then, our athletes have reached the podium much more often. Good luck to all athletes.

2025 #YellowPages for Burlington is a shadow of its former self compared to the 2006 ed. Once a vital resource for businesses & the community, it transitioned from a key source of info to a riser for computers in early 2000s. #printingmuseum #printinghistory #printeddirectories
