Shropshire-based jockey jailed for fatal punch to pensioner in fight outside pub. The 27-year-old punched a 71-year-old. Those involved in any industry that uses animals as commodities are inevitably lacking in any ethical standards. shropshirestar.com/news/levi…

In 2021 ITV shared footage of the Beaufort Hunt, shooting hounds in the head and carrying them away in a wheelbarrow. Speaking to ITV Mike Jessop, a fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons expressed grave concerns saying he did not believe the men in the footage were professionally trained at putting animals down. Even more heartbreaking he said, "In one of the videos, the [hound's] tail was still waggling very vigorously for quite some time, even when the dog was being loaded in the wheelbarrow." As Megan McCubbin very rightly said recently, "every animal in this situation is a victim." Hunts do not prioritise animal welfare, hounds and horses are seen as expendable tools. As the consultation draws to a close, hunts are professing to love their hounds and are claiming to be worried about their futures. The very real truth is that hounds are prematurely shot to make way for younger hounds. Hunts do not love hounds; they love exploiting them to fulfil their bloodlust of watching a fox get ripped apart. Together we can end this cycle of cruelty. Please make sure you have completed the consultation into banning 'trail hunting' before the 18th of June. huntsabs.org.uk/ha-campaign/…

Bobcats are under attack as Indiana considers trophy hunting season. 😔 I hate what this state, which is sadly where I live, is doing to bobcats. If only humans had compassion for animals. humaneworld.org/en/blog/bobc…

This week is volunteers' week, and we want to say a massive thank you to each and every saboteur that gives up their valuable time to save lives and expose the truth about blood sports. The HSA is run by volunteers and has been for over 60 years. We are passionate about protecting wildlife from sadistic hunters and each and every week sabs all over the country head out into often volatile situations, being met with violence and aggression from those who are illegally hunting. But we are a determined and experienced bunch who not only work hard out in the field but also dedicate a lot of time behind the scenes to ensure the safety of our wildlife. If you would like to support the work we do and become a member of the HSA you can do so at huntsabs.org.uk/product/join… Your support helps local sab groups to stay out in the field saving lives.

In 2020 thugs from the Cottesmore Hunt launched multiple attacks on saboteurs from Northants Hunt Sabs. During one incident a female sab was slammed to the floor and subjected to disgusting comments from Dean Cripps while Gwilym Owen stood over her, preventing her from getting up. When the sab got back to her feet she was thrown back onto the floor. On the same day another female sab had equipment stolen out of her trousers while riders looked on and laughed. There is a strong link between those who abuse animals, going onto inflict violence upon women and girls. 'Trail hunting' does not exist but what does is the extremely prevalent violence within this community. Whether it is towards animals; wildlife, hounds and horses, or towards other people. This is a world where violence towards women is thought of as acceptable. Complete the consultation into banning 'trail hunting' and end hunting for good 👇 huntsabs.org.uk/ha-campaign/…

Together we can end hunting! On the 18th of June the government consultation into banning 'trail hunting' will close. This consultation is your chance to have your say, be heard and end hunting. huntsabs.org.uk/ha-campaign/… We need the following changes to the Hunting Act for it to be effective. 🔻 Recklessness clause - to ensure that injury or damage to any animal is a breach of the Act. 🔻 Reversal of the burden of proof to ensure participants are responsible for any action taken with hunting hounds. 🔻 Ban of trail hunting for artificial scent, animal-based or otherwise, to prevent trail hunting from being used as smokescreen for actual hunting. 🔻 Removal of all Hunting Exemptions as they have been used to facilitate actual hunting. 🔻 ‘Hunting’ definition to include the Act of ‘searching for a scent or animal’. 🔻 Criminal penalties to be aligned to Animal Welfare Act 2006.

For over twenty years 'trail hunting' has been used a smokescreen for hunts to terrorise and kill foxes. The law is not fit for purpose. The loopholes and exemptions within the current Hunting Act are being exploited and our wildlife is still being persecuted. All they want is to live and you can give them that by having your say and completing the consultation. There are two weeks left to complete the consultation and the HSA have provided guidelines to help you, which can be found in the comments. Use your voice, save their lives.
