Very pleased to report my article on our pilot of Registrars as Clinical supervisors for FY2s has finally been published. Our results were used to inform changes to the foundation programme in England and now all registrars ST6 or above can take on the role of CS for FY2 Doctors!

We are working hard to understand the state of Colonoscopy training for Colorectal trainees. Key findings from Colonoscopy training survey: ‼️only 30% of trainees have a dedicated training list 🆘 29% may have to extend CCT to achieve Colonoscopy numbers Barriers to training👇 ⬆️service provision ⬇️ lack of dedicated training lists ⬇️ access to training lists due to other HCP/trainees Complete results to follow soon! We are working closely with stakeholders to improve training in colonoscopy by identifying long term, sustainable solutions to barriers to training. @ACPGBI statement acknowledges the importance of protecting training opportunities to adequately train our future consultant workforce 👇

'High fidelity' doesn't mean better. Here a lower physical fidelity model is absolutely achieving the learning outcomes of stoma formation. 💪💪
Working on stoma simulation for our GI fundamentals course later in the year. 👍 #SurgEd

Such an interesting article to research and write looking at an operating list from 1985 at a Military Hospital in Nepal. 20 cases covering 11 different specialties all with one surgeon and anaesthetist! That is 'General' Surgery. militaryhealth.bmj.com/conte…
