May data from the #HumAngleTracker reveals a trend that shows the vulnerability of communities despite ongoing security responses.

The April edition of the #HumAngleTracker is here, and it shows that last month had the highest number of insecurity incidents since 2026 began.
Fatalities increased from 453 in March to 546 in April, highlighting a worsening security situation in Nigeria.

The engagement created an important platform for conversations about equipping the next generation of media professionals with the knowledge, ethical grounding, and practical skills needed to drive impactful storytelling and public-interest journalism.

During our visit to Kaduna State last month, we held a meaningful stakeholder engagement with Franco-British International University and Kaduna State University.

Between February and April 2026, our #SCOJA fellows in Kano State, with support from @NLinNigeria, led climate advocacy engagements in Gezawa LGA, raising awareness on desert encroachment and the growing risks of climate change within affected communities.
They also held strategic engagements with the Kano State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Arewa Women Initiative for Climate Change Advocacy & Environmental Sustainability. So far, they have strengthened collaboration on local climate action and community-driven solutions.
