REMINDER: There is only one way to end this war - Russia surrendering, fully withdrawing from Ukraine, and paying reparations for generations to come. Everyone responsible for torture, killings, rape, and the abduction of children should be brought to trial and face either life imprisonment or the death penalty. As a dangerous actor on the international stage, the Kremlin should also give up its nuclear capabilities. And after all the harm Russia has caused, it should lose its seat on the UN Security Council and be removed from all the international organizations where it still holds membership. Every time you hear about Putin's war in Ukraine - remember about this video. One of many. On 5 year of full-scale Russian aggression in Ukraine, hundred thousands of killed Ukrainians, ruined to the ground Ukrainian cities, bombed by Russia hospitals, civilian homes, raped and kidnapped Ukrainian children, stolen entire regions - ordinary Russians from Russian capital Moscow HAVE NO ANY SHAME or regrets whatsoever about what their country has done! But take my word for it, as soon as imperialist Russia collapses, these same people will say that "they simply didn't know about all the horrors their fellow citizens committed," and that they're "simple people and don't care about politics." It's just like during the time of Hitler's Germany and after its collapse... Russia doesn't just need to be defeated; Russians need to undergo a painful process of de-imperialization and humanization. Although I'm not sure it will work on them the way it did on the Germans. It's all too deeply ingrained within them.

It is one thing to be wrong, but it is another to be a traitor. The Western voices defending the Kremlin are effectively siding against their own neighbors and their own future. When this war is over, their names will be synonymous with treason for generations

Today, 85 years ago, Soviet authorities under Stalin violently deported more than 10,000 people from Estonia to Siberia in soiled cattle wagons. It was part of a wider campaign of terror ordered from Moscow. In the Baltics, Moldova and western Belarus, around 106,000 people were deported in May–June 1941 alone. Most of those taken from Estonia were women, children and the elderly.

Twelve years ago today, russians shot down a Ukrainian Il-76 near Luhansk, killing 49 Ukrainian defenders. It is yet another reminder that russia started this war long before February 2022. Never forget.

In May, Ukraine recorded the highest number of civilian casualties from russian attacks since 2022, the UN reported. At least 274 civilians were killed and 1,763 were wounded, as russia intensified strikes on Ukrainian cities. This is not war. This is terrorism. The primary responsibility lies with russia and the terrorist regime in the Kremlin, which continues its genocidal campaign against Ukraine. But responsibility does not end there. I also blame the silent supporters and enablers of this evil. Perhaps the most significant among them is Donald Trump. He promised to “end the war in 24 hours,” and many believed him. Instead, he gave Putin a blank check. He invited this war criminal to the United States of America. And now his portrait hangs in the White House. So no surprise, since Trump’s return, russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine have skyrocketed. Trump’s pro-russian rhetoric, refusal to support Ukraine, and repeated praise of Putin have emboldened the Kremlin to escalate its assault. The United States halted military aid to Ukraine. Ukraine is now critically short of air defense systems. Civilians are dying because they cannot be adequately protected. U.S. intelligence support was curtailed, weakening Ukraine’s ability to defend itself and allowing russian forces to regain territory and advance further. Instead of standing with Ukraine, Trump handed a lifeline to the russian economy. By removing restrictions on russian oil, billions of dollars are flowing back into the Kremlin’s war machine. That means more missiles. More drones. More dead Ukrainians. Trump has become an enabler of russian terrorism. History will remember this.

Pure hell in Vasylkivka, Dnipropetrovsk region. russians dropped 12 KAB glide bombs on a market. A fucking market. A Saturday morning — people just coming out to sell what they have. Just a regular, everyday market… gone in an instant.

More civilians were killed and injured in Ukraine by Russia in May than in any other month in the past four years, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. Russia is a terrorist state, still hoping to bomb Ukraine into submission after all these years. It didn't work before, and it won't work now.

You can help to keep Ukrainians safe. By contributing, you are allowing people to survive and helping people to persevere. You are also letting them know that they are not alone, and that you can see a better future, and want to part of it. snyder.substack.com/p/sky-de…

Det är sorgligt. Men på något vis har kulturer skapats där det har blivit fult att ge barn extraundervisning - det som var helt självklart förr och ungefär 20-30% behövde. Nu har vi 24% analfabeter och de här människorna förstår inte ens varför.

As I finish the final preparations for our last book study on Hector Ruiz Martín’s tour de force, How Do We Learn?, I’ve been thinking about where I would place this book within the pantheon of science of learning and cognitive science texts I’ve read over the last couple of years. I don’t think I would say this is a book that all teachers must read. But let me qualify that. I wouldn’t say that about any single book. The impact that the science of learning and cognitive science can have on student learning and success is far too important and complex to be accomplished by reading one text. No single book can provide everything educators need to know. What matters is developing a deep and coherent understanding of the evidence base across time, texts, and experiences. In addition, all teachers reading the book will not reform a system in the United States, which still in a majority of circumstances does not promote evidence-informed practices. What all teachers can and should have, however, is the evidence presented in this book, and many others like it, explicitly taught to them in teacher preparation programs, reinforced and refined through ongoing professional learning in schools and districts, and embedded within teacher certification requirements by state departments of education. That is how we move teaching in the United States toward becoming a truly evidence-informed profession. One book cannot accomplish all that. A professional system can. @hruizmartin @Doug_Lemov

Russian authorities continue their campaign of militarising #UkrainianChildren in the Crimean Peninsula. In occupied Simferopol, schoolchildren were forced to weave camouflage nets for Russian military equipment. The constant integration of military-related activities into the school environment blurs the line between education and propaganda. One of the most dangerous consequences of this policy is normalising aggression in the minds of children and shaping their perception of it as an ordinary part of everyday life. #WarCrimes

Help fund a pickup for Ukrainian defenders x.com/oksii33/status/2062975…

These guys from the 56th brigade have been waiting for their turn since February🙄 They urgently need a pickup👉👈 send.monobank.ua/jar/5gWmCbX… PayPal v.titarenko@student.csn.khai.edu P.S. Since we receive many requests from the same brigade, we try to mix their requests with those from other brigades, but these are requests from different units and battalions. It’s not always the same guys as some might think🙂‍↔️ P.S.2. We have €146 leftovers from the previous fundraiser
