Bad deaths are often claimed to have happened despite the 'best palliative care' when in reality they could not access specialist palliative care. In the UK over 300/day can't access the specialist palliative care they desperately need. That is the priority, not #AssistedDying
So now we're at legalizing euthanizing children. When I read this I'm curious about the decision not to proceed with 2nd surgery and how it was presented to parent by physicians - vs how it would be presented for non-disabled child. cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/…

It would be an eccentric decision - to say the least - to dedicate a private member's bill to #assistedsuicide which is so low on the list of the priorities of voters.

How many incorrect deaths is acceptable for society? (Incorrect diagnosis, prognosis, coercion, pressure, mental health?etc etc) this is the fundamental question!
Better Way has warned MSPs that 'assisted dying' is “inherently, and unavoidably, unsafe” – with no way to “rule out abuses and mistakes, coercion and people dying through pressures arising in society”. news.stv.tv/politics/scotlan…

George Bernard Shaw, vice-president of the Voluntary Euthanasia Society (now @dignityindying) explains the thinking behind the campaign for #assistedsuicide and #euthanasia. x.com/i/status/1807961738995…

George Bernard Shaw, a founding member of the Fabian (Socialist) Society, explaining how he thinks all useless people should be killed, as determined by a government agency. The agendas of the UN and WEF, as expressed by Harari, are hardly different today.

"the problem with assisted dying is not the principle, but the practice. The reality is far more complex than has been presented."

Cautionary words from Canada re #assistedsuicide and #euthanasia. 'One nurse came to my bedside ...and asked me "to do the right thing and consider MAiD." Her next words still ring through my head... "After a few laughs and a glass of champagne, and with his family by his side, Liz's brother Rob hung himself." Society is in danger of romanticising and normalising suicide by pretending that poisoning oneself to death is something else. #assistedsuicide #euthanasia
After lunch, a few laughs and a glass of champagne, Liz’s brother Rob used Queensland’s assisted dying law to die on his own terms, surrounded by love. He spent his final months living life to the fullest. Please change the law, so that Brits can have such a dignified death.

According to assisted dying campaigners palliative care improves with legalisation. The reality is very different.

One of the interesting unintended consequences of legalized #euthanasia and #assistedsuicide is that if it is regarded as medical therapy, how can anything else patients request - such as magic mushrooms or cutting off limbs - be off-limits?dailymail.co.uk/news/article…

It's clear that a massive, mysteriously-funded, assisted suicide lobbying campaign is taking place across Europe. Assisted suicide is part of a wider shift away from human rights and towards the disposability of humans. Resist it!
It is clear that moves to legalise #AssistedDying are gathering pace, and public opinion in many countries is now in favour of reform. Seven European countries have already legalised assisted dying, with many more making progress towards compassion. Source: @guardian

Quote.. Canada has faced criticism for its ultra-permissive euthanasia system, it faces fresh outrage from woefully sick people who say it's easier to get lethal injections than it is to access the 'medicine they need. dailymail.co.uk/news/article…

It's also what has happened in every nation to legalize #assistedsuicide outside US. Once killing is defined as medical treatment for suffering, how can we deny it to anyone who "needs" it? Think again, @dimbleby_jd

Jonathan Dimbleby arguing more against than for legalization of #assistedsuicide and #euthanasia. He would fight "tooth and nail" against it for those with incapacitating or debillitating disease. But that's what's proposed in Jersey, Scotland. theguardian.com/lifeandstyle…

Priorities in Scotland: 1. Present a bill for the state to provide assisted deaths. 2. Then propose a bill making better palliative care a right. Isn't that the wrong way round?
💛 I’m really pleased to be working with @MarieCurieSCO to consult on a @ScotParl Private Members’ Bill to establish a legal right to Palliative Care in Scotland. 👇 Watch here to find out more about my proposal and how you can get involved and share your views by 4th June.

Shameful. But they are right that #euthanasia is the solution for those with disabilities in Canada and elsewhere #euthanasia and #assistedsuicide are legal.
Someone threw a brick with the text “Euthanasia is the solution” into an institution for disabled people in Germany.
