Dear
@DHSgov and
@ICEgov,
Please look at these photos.
This is Mohammad Mohebi, a player on the Islamic Republic’s soccer team who previously sparked outrage among Iranians with a goal celebration that mimicked firing at Iranian fans in the stadium who were chanting against the Islamic Republic’s repression.
Now, he is seen tearing down a “Woman, Life, Freedom” poster and throwing it into the trash.
For Iranians, these are not isolated incidents. They are viewed as symbolic acts by a regime member against the Woman, Life, Freedom movement and the values it represents: women’s rights, freedom, and human dignity.
If human rights and freedom matter, these actions should be taken seriously in any decision regarding this individual’s entry into the United States, and any potential ties to terrorism or regime-linked intimidation should be thoroughly reviewed.
