Today, we commemorate the courage, sacrifice, and solidarity displayed on D-Day. On June 6, 1944, Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy, France, initiating Operation Overlord and significantly shifting the course of World War II. More than 156,000 troops from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other Allied nations bravely battled against overwhelming odds to free Europe from Nazi rule. Over 4,000 Allied soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice that day, their heroism continuing to inspire future generations. Let us pay tribute to their memory and the lasting legacy of freedom they fought to secure. 🇺🇸
