Updated estimate based on tracking by yours truly and Deino ;) Includes serially confirmed 14 ABs and 3 TBs but doesn't include rumoured ABs which are receiving vanilla J20 from those who got J-20A/S or 3rd/4th gen units receiving their J20s. All ABs are catalogued in profile.
It’s interesting to see how IAF’s rejection on theaterization has become a spat between Indian Army veterans (or adjacent) vs IAF veterans (or adjacent). As a commentator somewhat familiar with Indian defense matters, I can more and more understand IAF’s reluctance due to the fact, and which is clearly stated by IAF senior leadership that the IAF today lacks the mass to be split and still able to operate somewhat independently under each theatre command. And why this was not really a concern (presumably) for the PLAAF. The PLAAF never lacked mass. The PLAAF today, ironically, is at the its smallest size since the 1960s.

Most accurate measurements of new 09X Sub using common markers on the ground via GE by 大鱼鉴水 Length 121.5m Waterline width 12.3m (likely more) Mr. Sutton retracted "sailless" claim and now suggests the 09X has a smaller sail, could this be the alleged 09VA ? after all 🤔

Also suggested circular hatches on deck are visible, which based on measured dia could accommodate five sets of VLS tubes. If each set has four 850mm tubes, then 20 units or 35 units if each set has 533mm tubes. A reasonable assessment given its 10m longer than 09V.

This #PLAAF Tianwendian天文点 Radar site has set a new record, pushing the #WorldHighest Radar site to 5852 m ASL. (based on GE) It's located ≈ 30 km from the border & 38 km from #DBO airstrip. #Leh #Ladakh #AksaiChin #Hekang #Xinjiang #新疆 #阿克赛钦

Streamlined S3 (minimal sail like 09X) significantly mitigates horseshoe vortices, resulting in a much smoother, tighter flow pattern around the structure.. S3 also yields lowest Sound Pressure Level (SPL) at lower frequencies & most reduction in pressure fluctuations - 2014

First look at 120m sailless Submarine, the one at Huludao apparently there is one at Jiangnan also. Should have ~ 9000T submerged displacement So far China has launched 3 SSN/GN this year incl 1x 09V and three shipyards can now make nuclear subs

Beauty \(^o^)/ 09X SSN Contrary to navalnews TWZ suggests the one at Bohai is 09V, a more plausible assessment. Two novel SSN class boats would be unprecedented for the PLAN. Pending higher fidelity sat imagery, consider Bohai boat as 09V or arguably a 09VA variant at best.

Wow Jiangnan and Huludao both launched 2 new sailless submarines simultaneously, A new Sub class or 09VA (?) 👀 These have sleek bow, X-form rudders, pump jet and minimal sail. The configuration is likely chosen to reduce drag.
