A law student in Bengaluru has alleged that one of his Muslim friends was denied a job interview opportunity because of his religion, sparking a wider discussion online about religious discrimination in hiring practices.
Mohammed Ameen, a law intern working with a legal firm in Bengaluru, shared the incident on LinkedIn, saying he was disturbed after learning about the alleged discrimination faced by his friend.
According to Ameen, his mutual friend was not rejected after an interview but was allegedly denied the chance to even appear for one because he is Muslim.
