Jeremy Duncan, Superintendent of Fayette County School Corporation, is committed to making decisions that prioritize students' long-term well-being. Guided by emerging research on screen time, child development, and student engagement, he has led efforts to rethink the role of technology in Fayette County classrooms. Most recently, the district announced the elimination of one-to-one devices in primary grades and is developing age-appropriate screen time guidelines for older students. The goal is not to eliminate technology, but to ensure it is used intentionally and in ways that best support learning and healthy development. By asking difficult questions and making student-centered decisions, Mr. Duncan is helping create learning environments that prioritize authentic engagement, meaningful relationships, and what is ultimately best for children. That's leadership beyond the title! #LeadIAPSS

Today, IAPSS proudly celebrates the Installation of Officers for the 2026-2027 term, including our new association president, Dr. Dan Hile, Superintendent of @NobSchools. We appreciate all of the district leaders who are making a meaningful commitment to support Indiana’s school districts through service, collaboration, and advocacy. As we kick things off, we would like to thank the Mayor of Noblesville, Chris Jensen, for serving as the Master of Ceremonies for today’s program. And now for the moment of leadership transition - IAPSS Past-President Mr. Rob Moorhead, Superintendent of South Ripley Community Schools, has officially installed Dr. Dan Hile, Superintendent of Noblesville Community Schools, as the 2026–2027 President. We thank Dr. Hile for his years of service on our Executive Committee and celebrate his commitment to serving Indiana’s public school leaders as president! #LeadIAPSS

Our new IAPSS President, Dr. Dan Hile, and Executive Director, Dr. Jeff Butts, recognized Mr. Moorhead for his service as president and transition to Past-President on the Executive Committee. Dr. Butts remarked, “Throughout his term, Rob led professional learning opportunities that strengthened our members and helped position IAPSS as a premier source of leadership development for school leaders across Indiana. He consistently challenged us to think beyond the immediate demands of our work and focus on building leadership capacity for the future.” Thank you, Mr. Moorhead, for your leadership. #LeadIAPSS

Dr. Matt Vance, Superintendent of Shelbyville Central Schools, believes some of the most impactful leadership moments happen alongside students rather than behind a desk. Each year, he joins Shelbyville students in the Special Olympics Plane Pull Challenge, an event that has become one of his favorite traditions. Working side by side to pull an 82-ton aircraft, Dr. Vance experiences firsthand the determination, teamwork, and perseverance that make the Shelbyville community so special. For Dr. Vance, participating in events like the Plane Pull is about more than showing support. Another valuable day of learning for our Indiana Aspiring Superintendent Academy participants! Today’s session featured conversations on school board relations with Dr. Dan Hile (Noblesville Schools), school finance with Jane Herndon (Policy Analytics), and a policy update from IDOE Chief Policy Officer David Buetze. Participants also heard leadership insights from Dr. Amy Korus (Whitco Schools) as she reflected on her first full year as superintendent during a conversation with Rob Moorhead (South Ripley Schools) and had time to connect with their mentors! We’re preparing Indiana’s next generation of district leaders. #LeadIAPSS
