๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ธ๐˜† ๐—จ๐—ฝ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿค Since our last update, Rocky has been making positive progress, although his journey has certainly been a bumpy one. One of the biggest challenges the team has faced is keeping Rocky's feeding tube in place while he is still unable to eat on his own. This cheeky boy keeps finding ways to remove it! Rocky has also been suffering from severe constipation and, initially, had not passed any stool since his rescue in early May. Thankfully, after receiving an enema at the clinic, he was finally able to poop, bringing some much-needed relief. He is continuing his treatment with plenty of fluids, including daily subcutaneous fluids, to help him stay hydrated and regain his strength. Not content with making life easy for his carers, Rocky also somehow managed to remove the sutures from both his left eye and mouth following surgery. These will need to be redone once he is strong enough. The good news is that half of his palate has already healed, and his latest blood work has come back looking good. The WIC team clearly has a cheeky, lively little boy in their care, but we're so grateful that he is slowly but surely getting better. However, Rocky still has a long road ahead of him, and any donations towards his ongoing care would be hugely appreciated. You can sponsor Rocky here: bit.ly/iapwa-rocky โค๏ธ

This is the reality for hundreds of dogs and cats at the shelter in Borneo who reached out to us for help. Many have spent incredibly long stretches of time in these overcrowded enclosures, desperate for a kind touch or a second chance. The staff do everything they can, but they simply don't have the space or resources to cope with the number of animals arriving. That's why we're now in Phase 2 of this project: creating safer housing, improving disease control and veterinary care, and giving these animals a genuine pathway to adoption. Thanks to a generous supporter, every donation to Phase 2 will be DOUBLED up to ยฃ15,000, meaning twice the impact for animals who need it most. Please help us change what you're seeing here by making a donation: justgiving.com/campaign/bornโ€ฆ Thank you for your support ๐Ÿ’™ #AnimalWelfare #Borneo #DogRescue #CatRescue

Stray girl Sassy is very sick and doesn't have a family of her own to care for her. Will YOU be there for her? ๐Ÿ’” justgiving.com/campaign/iapwโ€ฆ Sassy came into the care of our IAPWA Penang team a few years ago with a severely damaged eye. It is believed that someone had applied Dettol to her eye in an attempt to help her, unintentionally causing irreversible damage to this poor girl. It was also discovered that, on top of her eye condition, Sassy was suffering from heart and kidney issues, high blood pressure, and a benign tumour. Due to the complexity of her needs, releasing her was never an option, and she became a long-term patient and much-loved member of our IAPWA Penang family. Therefore, the team were devastated when Sassyโ€™s health took a heartbreaking turn this week ๐Ÿ’” After returning from daily TNR work, the team found Sassy in a very poor condition โ€“ she was extremely weak, visibly struggling, and had a severely swollen face. She was immediately rushed to the veterinary clinic for emergency out-of-hours treatment. Tests revealed a severe gum infection that had progressed to the point where Sassy was in significant pain, and the vet recommended the removal of all her teeth. Sassy has already endured so much in her life, and now she faces yet another painful battle. Right now, Sassy urgently needs kind sponsors to fund her surgery and ongoing veterinary care. She will never lead a conventional life and will require specialist life-long care, but by sending a kind gift today, you can ensure she has everything she needs to live a happy, dignified life after all she's been through. Thank you for any support you can give Sassy to help her reach her target ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ justgiving.com/campaign/iapwโ€ฆ

Frank is coming out of his shell and healing beautifully ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’– This brave boy endured horrific abuse after someone tied a cord tightly around his neck, leaving him to suffer alone on the streets of Tangier. When he was first rescued, Frank was understandably terrified, carrying both deep physical wounds and emotional trauma. Thankfully, he is now healing on both fronts. His once agonising neck wound is healing well with ongoing treatment, and his confidence is growing every day. He is starting to play with other dogs, allowing people to stroke him, and even beginning to enjoy gentle cuddles with the SFT team. It is truly wonderful to see how far he has come after such tragic circumstances. He still has a little way to go, but thanks to your support and everyone at SFT Animal Sanctuary, he now has a future to look forward to โœจ Please consider sponsoring Frankโ€™s ongoing treatment and care and help him cross the finish line: bit.ly/iapwa-frank

โ€œHi, my name is Oddie and Iโ€™ve found my forever home!โ€ ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿก What a beautiful way to start the month for this gorgeous little boy, as he was welcomed into the loving arms of his amazing new family. Oddieโ€™s early life has been quite the journey โ€“ from being born on the streets of Penang Island, to finding safety and care with our IAPWA Penang team, and now to the comfort of his very own bed and soft blankets. His adopter shared that Oddie took a little time to settle on his first night, as you would expect after such a big change in such a short space of time. With each passing day, weโ€™re sure he will continue to build confidence and feel more secure in his new home โœจ Thank you to everyone who supports our work and helps make happy endings like Oddieโ€™s possible. If you would like to help more dogs like Oddie, please consider becoming a monthly donor from as little as ยฃ3 per month: bit.ly/iapwa-RG ๐Ÿ’™

FRANK UPDATE: This brave boy is finally learning what safety feels like โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน Frank was found on the streets of Tangier last month in severe pain after someone tied a cord tightly around his neck, causing deep, serious injuries. He was rushed straight to the veterinary clinic, where he received immediate treatment, including careful cleaning and ongoing medical care for his wound. The damage was significant, but thankfully he is now healing well and his recovery is moving in the right direction. When Frank first arrived, he was quiet, frightened, and unsure if he could trust anyone again. After everything he had been through, that fear was completely understandable. But slowly, something beautiful is happening โœจ Day by day, Frank is growing in confidence and starting to come out of his shell. Most heartwarming of all, he has begun playing with the other dogs at the sanctuary. Watching him rediscover joy after such trauma is truly special. He still has a journey ahead of him, but now he is not walking it alone. With continued care and your support, Frank can finally have the future he deserves. Please consider sponsoring Frank today ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป HOW TO DONATE: ๐Ÿ“ Frank's Donation Form: bit.ly/iapwa-frank ๐Ÿ’ฐ PayPal: paypal.me/iapwa Thank you for standing by Frank and giving him a second chance at life ๐Ÿ’™

APPEAL: Will you help us save Rocky's life? ๐Ÿ’” At just one year old and weighing only 2.9kg, Rocky was found lying helpless on the streets of the Maldives, desperately ill and barely clinging to life. He was exhausted, dehydrated, and in visible distress, struggling to breathe and clearly unable to cope on his own. It was obvious he had been suffering for a long time before help finally reached him. Since arriving at the veterinary clinic, Rocky has already endured jaw and eyelid surgery and is now receiving intensive around-the-clock care. He is being supported with tube feeding, daily fluids, and constant monitoring as his little body fights to recover. His condition is still fragile, and every day is a battle. But despite everything he has been through, Rocky remains gentle and trusting. Rocky now urgently needs sponsors to help fund his lifesaving veterinary treatment, further surgery, and ongoing care. Every donation, no matter the size, will help give him the chance to keep fighting. Will you be the reason Rocky has a future? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ HOW TO DONATE: ๐Ÿ“ Rocky's Donation Form: bit.ly/iapwa-rocky ๐Ÿ’ฐ PayPal: paypal.me/iapwa Thank you for caring about Rocky ๐Ÿ’™

From heartbreaking beginnings to happy endings ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿพ Can you believe the two dogs pictured here nearly didnโ€™t make it past puppyhood? Phoebe, the beautiful grey girl, was dumped at a market alongside her siblings. In a horrific act of cruelty, boiling water was poured over them, leaving their tiny bodies burned and their spirits shattered. Around the same time, Brownie and his siblings were abandoned beside a busy road like worthless rubbish. While still just a baby, Brownie was then hit by a car and suffered broken legs. By every measure, their start in life was devastating ๐Ÿ’” Life finally took a turn when both litters were rescued by our IAPWA Penang team, who never give up on cases like these. With time, treatment, and loving care, they slowly began to heal. Today, all of the siblings are doing well โ€“ and Phoebe and Brownie have formed an extra special bond of their own. They now live together, play together, and finally get to experience the safe, loving life they always deserved with a caring family. Thank you to everyone who supports our work and helps make happy endings like this possible. We simply couldnโ€™t do it without you ๐Ÿ’›

Right now, your donation to Borneoโ€™s animals will be DOUBLED! ๐Ÿ’ž Hereโ€™s how it works: Every donation made to Phase Two of our Borneo shelter redevelopment project is being matched by an incredibly generous supporter, up to the value of ยฃ15,000. That means your ยฃ10 becomes ยฃ20; your ยฃ50 becomes ยฃ100; or your ยฃ250 becomes ยฃ500. There's never been a more impactful time to donate! ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ’ฐ Together we have the power to unlock an amazing ยฃ30k to help almost a thousand dogs and cats living in overcrowded, difficult conditions. Match funding like this is a rare and powerful opportunity for a small charity like ours. Someone believes in this project so strongly that they have committed ยฃ15k of their own money to help transform conditions for these animals - but we need to raise the matching donations to unlock it. Head here to find our more and double your impact for struggling dogs and cats in Borneo: justgiving.com/campaign/bornโ€ฆ Thank you so much for your support ๐Ÿ’™

LEON UPDATE ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿงก Remember blind kitten Leon, who was rescued from the streets of the Maldives at just three months old, weighing a tiny 0.69kg? Weโ€™re delighted to share that since his rescue, Leon has been recovering well. He has gained weight and now weighs a healthier 1.2kg, and has also received his vaccinations alongside fellow patient Buddy ๐Ÿ’‰ Leon is still waiting for a procedure on his eyes, which will be performed once he is old enough to also undergo neutering. For now, we are so pleased that this little boy is responding well to his treatment, gaining weight, and showing positive progress after all heโ€™s been through. APPEAL: Sponsors urgently needed for street dog Frank ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ’” In a horrendous act of cruelty, someone tied a cord tightly around Frank's neck, cutting deep into his skin and causing an excruciating wound. Every movement was causing him unbearable pain. It is difficult to imagine the fear and suffering he endured alone on the streets. Thankfully, a member of the public spotted Frank in distress and alerted our friends at SFT Animal Sanctuary. They acted immediately, rushing to rescue him and get him urgent veterinary care. Frank has now been sedated, the cord carefully removed, and his wound has been cleaned. Frank is now safe, but his journey is far from over โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน He is a very shy, frightened boy, which is completely understandable after what he has been through. What he needs most is time, patience, and gentle care to help him heal not only physically, but emotionally too. Weโ€™re incredibly proud of our teammates at IAPWA Penang, who have officially renewed their Memorandum of Understanding with MBPP for another five years, continuing their vital trap-neuter-release/rehome programme for stray dogs ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŒ Initially signed in 2017, this partnership is a powerful example of how humane, compassionate stray animal management can work in practice. At a time when many communities continue to struggle with stray animal welfare challenges, Penang Island is showing that there is a better way โ€“ one built on kindness, collaboration, and long-term commitment. This renewed agreement also highlights the importance of partnerships between NGOs and local government, working together professionally and respectfully for the good of both animals and local communities. A huge congratulations and thank you to our dedicated team in Penang Island, and to the leadership of MBPP for continuing to champion humane solutions for stray animals. Weโ€™re honoured to support this work and excited to see what the next five years will achieve ๐Ÿ’™
