A festive fairground ride has crashed in #Birmingham city centre, injuring several people.
At least one person was taken to hospital and 11 assessed by medics on the scene after the ride "failed and crashed", according to the West Midlands Fire Service.
Officers and paramedics attended the scene at Centenary Square, #Birmingham, at 7.30pm on Thursday after the ride dropped to ground level “whilst in operation”, according to the fire service. The 'Star Flyer' ride appears to be the attraction which malfunctioned and collapsed.
The #Christmas Fair has been cordoned off by West Midlands Police with officers on site, and all fairground rides are currently inoperative.
