"If all men would repent and keep God’s commandments, there would be paradise on earth, for 'the Kingdom of Heaven is within us.' The Kingdom of Heaven is the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is the same in heaven and on earth." St Silouan the Athonite
Here is a token of forgiveness: if you now detest sin, it means the Lord has forgiven you your sins. And what more could we expect? That some voice from heaven sing us a heavenly song? But in heaven everything has life through the Holy Spirit, and the Lord has given us on earth the same Holy Spirit. The offices in God’s churches are celebrated in the Holy Spirit; in desert, mountain and cave, in every place, Christ’s warriors who fight the good fight live by the Holy Spirit. If we preserve the Holy Spirit we shall be free of all darkness, and life eternal will be in our souls. If all men would repent and keep God’s commandments, there would be paradise on earth, for ‘the Kingdom of Heaven is within us.” The Kingdom of Heaven is the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is the same in heaven and on earth. This is how I want to go out. No matter the cost.
Has anyone seen the body of a righteous man abandoned by his soul? There is no stench from him; there is no fear of approaching him. At his burial, his sadness is dissolved by some kind of incomprehensible joy. The facial features, frozen as they were at the moment of the soul's departure, sometimes rest in the deepest peace, and sometimes shine with the joy of sweet encounters and kisses—of course, with Angels and with the saints who are sent from heaven for the souls of the righteous. ~St. Ignatius (Bryanchaninov)

Nikola Tesla, one of the world’s greatest inventors, was born and raised Orthodox. His father, Milutin Tesla, was a respected Serbian Orthodox priest, writer, and teacher. Nikola Tesla once confided that he prayed to God on his bare knees every night from his youth. ~A fresco of Nicola Tesla at the Cathedral of St. Joannicius in Serbia 🇷🇸☦️

To be Orthodox means to have the God-man Christ constantly in your soul, to live in Him, think in Him, feel in Him, act in Him. In other words, to be Orthodox means to be a Christ-bearer and a Spirit-bearer. ~ St. Justin Popovich

Pretty crazy to think that, right now, the technology literally exists, to make everyone's life amazing and their dreams come true, but the powers that be are making it as difficult and as arbitrary as possible to access and implement this outcome.

“Do you realize that those very things that are considered hurtful and which are causes of unhappiness by human standards may be transmuted into advantages within the Grace of God? I am totally convinced that human beings who have been traumatized in their lives either physically or psychologically have tremendous potential to become truly great. This is also why the holy elders have placed so much emphasis on how to contront temptations. They didn't mean by that the pseudo-temptations related to the pleasures of the senses. They meant the temptations that accompany the difficult and seemingly hopeless circumstances that people find themselves in. They meant the temptations that torment human beings and which often lead to serious psychological traumas. When we find ourselves in such circumstances but approach God in the right way, allowing Grace to get energized within ourselves, then something paradoxical takes place. God, as the doctor of our body and soul, not only heals our traumas so that no trace of the trauma remains, but does something much more important. He transforms the old hurts into spiritual assets. The healed person has now become knowledgeable of the inner world of human beings and can therefore become a healer to others.” "That's why," Father Maximos continued, "God quite often permitted and even propelled saints to succumb under pressure to various temptations, great temptations, that caused them deep sorrow and psychic turmoil." "Why?" "Because a human being who has not been tempted, who has not experienced pain or shed bitter tears, is not able to understand others in their pain and sorrow." "As a Cypriot proverb goes," I added, "if you have a full stomach it is not likely that you will think of those who are hungry." "That's how it is," Father Maximos agreed. "A person who has not been tempted is like bread that has not been baked. All of life's temptations unfold within the Providence of God." "Are you by any chance suggesting, Father Maxime, that God cooperates with evil?" "No. God never cooperates with evil. He simply offers us the opportunity to transform the painful experiences in our lives into advantages and blessings. I'll never forget the words of elder Paisios, who used to tell us that the time will come when we will be grateful to God for all the hurts and pains that we underwent in our lives. Each one of us carries his or her own cross. If we persevere and face our trials in a spiritual way, we will realize at a certain point that these traumas and trials have been transmuted within us into great advantages, into real treasures. You see, the saints knew about this mystery. That's why they would often intentionally not avoid trials and sorrows but rather allow them to get energized." - The Mountain of Silence: A Search for Orthodox Spirituality (pg 179).

I met a woman in her 60’s yesterday with missing teeth who was completely hunched over with a severely crooked spine from arthritis who could barely walk, who could not get approved for Social Security Disability Insurance. Our system is seriously broken.
