ICERM was launched in 2010 at @BrownUniversity with a grant from the @NSF, which has now been renewed three times. We look forward to another five years of fostering mathematical innovation and collaboration!
Phylogenetic networks empower biodiversity research | @PNASNewspnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24…
ICERM alumni Sungsik Kong and Claudia Solís-Lemus, along with George Tiley, explain how new phylogenetic inference methods can advance conservation biology and biodiversity research.
Kong and Solís-Lemus were participants in ICERM's Fall 2024 Semester Program Theory, Methods, and Applications of Quantitative Phylogenomics. Kong was also a 2024-2025 Institute Postdoctoral Fellow.

This year, @GoogleDeepMind was awarded gold-medal scores at the International Math Olympiad.
In March, DeepMind researcher and @BrownUniversity Professor Junehyuk Jung gave the ICERM Public Lecture "AlphaGeometry: A Step Toward Automated Math Reasoning."
Jung's talk explored the inner workings of @GoogleDeepMind's AlphaGeometry and the techniques that allow it to solve intricate geometric puzzles.
Read the full piece from @WSJ to get Jung's perspective on the future of automated reasoning — and human intelligence — in math.
The workshop was co-organized by Miriam Kuzbary (Amherst College), Gage Martin (Harvard University), Brendan Owens (University of Glasgow), and Ryan Stees (University of Virginia).
The deadline to apply for GoGetMath has been EXTENDED to May 30th, 2025.
