If something like the Internet Computer Protocol doesn’t succeed, I don’t see how Web3, crypto, DeFi… or even parts of Web2 don’t start to fall apart. Because the same problem exists everywhere. Web2 is built on complex, fragile infrastructure, heavily dependent on third-party vendors, constantly expanding the attack surface. “Web3” is mostly built on top of that same infrastructure. So all the dependencies, all the attack surfaces, all the vulnerabilities… they never actually go away. And we’re already seeing it. Cybercrime is rising fast. Hacks. Exploits. Drains. Data breaches. Constantly. Now add AI into that equation: faster attacks automated exploits scalable cybercrime Traditional cybersecurity can't keep up. At some point, it breaks. People stop trusting DeFi Systems fail more often Breaches increase And everything built on that foundation gets exposed If the foundation doesn’t change, nothing else matters. The Cloud Market in Switzerland is projected to continue growing🇨🇭 internet-computer:native is currently well positioned. Public hospitals in Switzerland are not allowed to use Claude. Mostly, these institutions do rely on Local Cloud Providers. DFINITY & the Swiss Subnet will offer a "packaged offering" that other Cloud providers are not able to offer. In one of his last posts, Dom has mentioned Fluid sovereign onchain apps with AI inside: In particular, he has mentioned that: "Soon I will demonstrate how AI can be "inside" an arbitrary ICP app, service or website built using the latest Motoko, understanding all its data, analysing it any way you want, and taking actions, without need for one special line of code. Insane and groundbreaking." This service is going to be used by Public Hospitals, Banks, Financial Institutions, Law Firms, Startups, Small businesses, Entrepreneurs etc. In particular, personally, healthcare is extremely interesting and meaningful. Is ICP literally the only blockchain doing something beyond DeFi and pushing tokens around? Because if DeFi is your blockchain's entire use case, it's not looking too good. $ICP ∞ ☁️

Let me translate this. $ADA at multi-year lows. Ecosystem collapsing. On-chain investigations circling. A third of his replies are people asking uncomfortable questions. So the solution is to move his community to a private Discord where he controls the questions, moderates the channels and decides what gets discussed. That’s not building a community. That’s building a bunker. The irony of a blockchain founder -technology literally designed for transparency and decentralisation- retreating into a closed, controlled, moderated environment to escape accountability is something else entirely. “I can’t solve stupid.” No Charles. You just can’t handle questions you don’t have answers to.

Saying "builders" without talking about what they're building misses the point. On most chains, the blockchain is one component of the stack. On ICP, the blockchain can be the stack. Frontend. Backend. Database. Storage. Compute. All consuming network resources. There's a big difference between building a Web2 app that touches a blockchain and building an application that actually runs on the blockchain. Web3 vs Web2.5. "Built on Polkadot" often means: AWS Database Backend APIs Storage Smart Contract. "Built on ICP" can literally mean built on ICP. That's the difference. One model pays cloud providers and uses the blockchain. The other uses the blockchain as the cloud provider. Builder count alone doesn't tell that story. $ICP $DOT

I put my entire life into Cardano. My time, my expertise, my savings. I’ve literally gone all in, and for over 5 years now. No salary for 3 years, along with my co founder, and every payroll was paid on time. This isn’t meant as a guilt trip just context towards my reality. I forced my cofounders to envelope the ‘entrepreneur mindset’ and make sacrifices to make our vision of Anvil work. I thought we were in good company in Cardano. A bunch of scrappy, smart people who are building the future financial rails of the world. Unfortunately, not everyone was living like starving entrepreneurs and looted our community/treasury while keeping cushy salaries. Now the price is in the teens…and we can’t even get contracts on Cardano to sustain our business, with no indication that change is coming, all community business proposals are not passing atm. I gave up my 30s for this. I had a great career trajectory making solid money. I don’t regret the decision I just wish it went different. Believe it or not, we didn’t make many stupid decisions, we were responsible with salaries, and ran very lean operations. Did we fail? Or did Cardano fail to flourish and create real opportunity? I bought Ada, I believed in the token. I dropped my 401k on it. Held it religiously for 5 years, all to sell at .16 so I don’t lose my house? It’s insane lol was I supposed to sell on everyone’s heads? I thought being a believer was the whole point now I just feel like a sheep. I don’t even have the 100k Ada required anymore to go straight to the treasury. The only thing I can think of that hurt worse were my kidney stones. This is the most defeated I have felt in a long time. And now I’m watching 8 months of hard work and relationship building get thrown away. Can’t get a hold of half the DReps otherwise you come off as annoying. Didn’t do a Japan tour? Good luck! I had to waste 6 days explaining to one of our top DReps why the product needs Cardano. He basically said we didn’t need to use blockchain or cardano. Instead of explaining the value we create I gotta convince our top DReps why a project chose to build on Cardano? 🤯 Im not perfect but I damn sure tried to be! Answered everyone promptly, reached out to DReps, and did our best to listen/apply feedback. I show up everyday. Can someone explain to me why I should keep trying to build here? I’ve legit lost everything but my wife who isn’t getting any happier with me. Today is the first day I work towards getting my life back. IDK exactly what that means but I’m done feeling like this for nothing.

the most valuable part of cardano really was/is the people. the tech is dogshit and going nowhere, fast. see that many of you publicly sharing your lost time (~5 years of career growth). my suggestion would be to try to connect with other people who are also in your situation who are worth a damn and try to build something together outside of cardano. you probably know who the people you'd like to work with are.

It's the response. 🧵 When people raise questions about ADA sales, governance, treasury funds, ecosystem growth, adoption, or leadership decisions, the response shouldn't be: "Block them." And echo chambers are dangerous because eventually nobody is allowed to ask difficult questions. Nobody is allowed to challenge leadership. Nobody is allowed to point out weaknesses. Nobody is allowed to identify problems before they become disasters. But it goes even further than that. You're not just shutting out critics. You're shutting out newcomers. Imagine being completely new to Cardano. You hear about the project and want to learn more. You ask questions about adoption. You ask questions about governance. You ask questions about treasury spending. You ask questions about ecosystem growth. You ask questions about leadership decisions. Not because you're attacking Cardano. Not because you're spreading FUD. Simply because you're curious. In an environment where every difficult question is treated as criticism, every criticism is treated as an attack, and every attack is met with a block button, how long before those people get pushed away too? The result isn't a stronger community. The result is a smaller community that only hears opinions it already agrees with. That's how progress dies.
