Participants worked progressively and collaboratively during a workshop to establish and operationalize an integrated landscape management partnership in the municipality of Bama, Burkina Faso, organized by the Soil Values program and held from June 1st to 5th.
Participants also validated the change indicators and the partnership's monitoring and evaluation indicators. The workshop concluded with the presentation of the results and a discussion of the governance charter, which was then presented to local authorities.
They commended the quality of the discussions and the commitment of the participants. This meeting marks an important step towards the implementation of integrated and sustainable landscape management in Bama.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Soil Values webinar on Bundle Boxes, an innovative approach developed by the Soil Values Program to improve soil fertility, strengthen climate resilience, and support the livelihoods of farmers in the Sahel.
Your questions, contributions, and discussions greatly enriched the conversation and demonstrate the growing interest in integrated solutions for more sustainable agriculture.
During the webinar, “Bundle Boxes: An Integrated, Practical and Scalable Approach for Soil Fertility Management,” Fadila Garba, a Ph.D. student with the Soil Values Program, reflected on the research environment within the initiative.
She emphasized that beyond the quality of the research environment, what truly stands out is the openness, accessibility, and strong support within the team. Despite everyone’s responsibilities, it remains easy to connect with experts across the program and exchange ideas.
She also underlined an important perspective: “Bundle Boxes are not a set-in-stone formula: they will be prototyped, tested, refined, and adjusted in the field based on feedback and community perceptions, which often explain why certain technologies are rejected.”
Jama’are (Bauchi, Nigeria) - Local stakeholders and partners of the #SoilValuesProgram met from June 8 to 11 to jointly develop a sustainable vision (2028–2033) for land management, inclusive governance, and soil restoration, with women and youth.

During the Soil Values "Bundle Boxes" webinar, Dr. Boubou Diallo Mariama, Lead of Bundling for the Soil Values Program, presented the concept of Bundle Boxes as an integrated approach.
She explained that Bundle Boxes are an integrated package of agricultural technologies and services designed in collaboration with farmers and adapted to local realities and needs.
During the Soil Values webinar: “Bundle Boxes: An Integrated, Practical and Scalable Approach for Soil Fertility Management,” participants discussed the importance of strengthening integrated approaches to soil health & agricultural productivity across West Africa and the Sahel.
Dr. Alimata Bandaogo stated that, “Rather than providing isolated solutions, this approach aims to combine several complementary services in order to sustainably improve productivity, ensure long-term soil fertility management, and enhance the resilience of smallholder farmers.”
Yesterday, June 11th, IFDC welcomed participants from the Shoals Chamber of Commerce Classroom to Careers program for a behind-the-scenes look at the many career opportunities available in agriculture!
Educators and career coaches toured our laboratories and greenhouses, learned about IFDC’s global work to improve soil health and food security, and explored the diverse science, research, and development careers that help transform food systems around the world.
