3) Don't do anything client side. Everything already relies on the API, require certain endpoints like the match making server to require the EAC auth session token, similar to JWT on websites, used to authenticate you.

Mind you none of what they did for implementing this was right at all, everything is client side, the same issue they had for bans. Whatever people they kept after firing everyone also need to be fired, this is a genuinely disappointing update, and probably slop thrown together.

Rocket League developers might actually be terrorists. They don't seem to be able to do anything right, they can't implement their own companies anti cheat correctly into a game that is not complicated at all to implement into. Maybe they all needed to be fired after all. Crazy.

For those who don't know how EAC works, and how it will work for Rocket League: Easy Anti Cheat (EAC) is a ring 0 anti cheat, meaning it runs at a lower level than your operating system. Because of this, EAC has the ability to see every single thing going on in your computer.

The only REAL bypass here is Direct Memory Access (DMA), a card that reads memory over PCIe, but requires a second PC, and firmware that will actually work on the DMA card. Anti cheats like Vanguard have already started working on DMA, EAC will soon follow.
