This month, our Fellowship team organized gatherings for our Fellows, aimed at building community and getting creative.
Across the country, in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, Fellows and IJC staff met up at art cafes, making and painting pottery.
For Fellows like Raul Rodrigues, joining IJC means representing a community he feels deeply passionate about.
"Many immigrants must navigate a complex and unforgiving legal system, often without understanding the language, procedures, or consequences involved," Raul said.

Earlier this month, the Justice Department's Board of Immigration Appeals issued Matter of Bolivar-Bolivar, a decision that fundamentally weakens due process in immigration court.
This would be unthinkable in any other court system. In immigration court, it is now the law.
We are looking for New York based organizations interested in hosting IJC Community Fellows for the 2026-2029 fellowship period.
Placements will be in New York State.
