For years, the YouTube algorithm pushed hot garbage ads into my streaming:
Epoch Times and Shred-X come immediately to mind, but I got plenty of garbage.
I now get ads for Keysight and National Instrument bench top equipment. I have no idea how they fixed the algorithm.
