✅LGDF funding remains at 6.47%.
Thanks to strong municipal advocacy and support from legislators, the State Fiscal Year 2027 state budget rejected a proposed reduction to the Local Government Distributive Fund.
Protecting local revenues means protecting essential services in communities across Illinois.

This spring, @IMLLeague led the effort to oppose statewide housing mandates that would have preempted municipal zoning and land use authority.
IML also introduced the REAL Housing Act, a locally driven approach that promotes housing solutions while preserving community input and local decision-making.
Housing challenges vary from community to community. One-size-fits-all mandates are not the answer.

Illinois municipalities deserve a voice in local zoning, planning and development decisions.
@IMLLeague continues to oppose SB 635, SB 640 and SB 643 due to concerns that the proposals would expand state mandates and preemption on local decision-making involving housing and development.
