The challenge brings together teams of 1st and 2nd year university students to design, build and test a device and develop engineering skills and best practice.
Formula Student helped James get noticed.
It gave him hands-on mechanical and manufacturing skills he could not learn in the classroom, helping him secure a top role in a leading defence company.
🔧 This is practical skills development in action.
It helps young engineers prove what they can do and builds the workforce the UK needs.
