IPRI Updates| Asst Researcher, @s_2772 visited China as part of a delegation invited to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between #China and #Pakistan, organised by the International Department of the Chinese Communist Party (IDCPC) as part of a cultural exchange program. The visit was intended to enhance our understanding of the Chinese political system, economic system, Hubei’s 15th Five-Year Plan, technological advancement, and manufacturing prowess. The Delegations also attended the China-Pakistan Political Parties Forum and meeting of the Joint Consultation Mechanism of Political Parties on #CPEC.

IPRI Updates| Research Fellow, @TanzeelaMirxa, participated in the @IISS_org 23rd #ShangriLaDialogue2026 held in Singapore. She participated in #IISS_SLD26’s Young Leaders Program (YLP) where she shared her views on “Diplomacy in an Era of Rising Conflict” with a particular focus on the role of #Pakistan mediating the Iran-Israel-US conflict. Besides her participation in the YLP, she also attended the plenary and special sessions of the Summit, including speeches by head of states, ministers and military officials. During the first plenary session, she sought Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s assessment of India’s long range missile capability particularly in terms of Agni-VI missile, which could potentially place some parts of Europe and #America within reach. In a special session on Managing risks to strategic stability, Lt Gen Noman Zakria delivered his speech arguing that strategic stability in South Asia remains shaped by nuclear deterrence, conventional asymmetry, emerging technologies, enduring political tensions, and unresolved territorial and ideological disputes between #India and Pakistan.
