A US Marshal was shot after 72-yr-old former neurosurgeon Thomas Steffens, wanted in Colorado for sexual assault, opened fire on deputies and a Fugitive Task Force serving a warrant in Indian River County. Steffens was struck multiple times and now faces attempted murder charges.

searching for Chaz. Around 8:45pm our helicopter team spotted Chaz in a wooded area trapped, tired, and very stressed out. Deputies used drones to lead our team in to recover Chaz. Today he’s home safe resting and will be back to work soon.

1/2 Yesterday while our community paused to give thanks, one of our own was missing. K-9 Chaz a 2 year old German Shepherd-Malinois mix went missing from his home. Our K-9 team, other agency members, Vero Beach and Sebastian Police, and many good citizens spent their day
