Conversation on Refugee Entrepreneurial Success
Friday, November 18 | 3 p.m. ET
Today, June 20, is #WorldRefugeeDay! We stand #withrefugees, celebrating the strength and courage of people forced to flee their homes and recognizing their resilience in rebuilding their lives.
We want to highlight two of our refugee clients, Barwin and Yaser and the programs they are involved in. Both clients participate in Micro-Enterprise programs at their local @RESCUEorg office, as well as the @SBAgov Community Navigator Pilot Program.
A7: Be welcoming and remember that refugees want the same things as everyone else. A sense of security for themselves and their families, and opportunities to be included in their community.
#RefugeesThrive
Q7: Final Question: How can communities & employers work together to assist refugees in adapting & adjusting to life in their new countries? Post resettlement, how can communities & employers help refugees cultivate a sense of belonging & long-term well-being? #RefugeesThrive
A4: Employers should embrace the existing skill-sets and credentials of refugees AND recognize the unique challenges faced outside of work.
Diversity is strength, and that requires real work within organizations.
#RefugeesThrive
Q4: Let’s talk about the role of employers in identifying refugee talent and creating inclusive, welcoming workplaces. What are best practices for employers investing in refugees? Which employers are doing this particularly well? #RefugeesThrive
Q2: Many refugees in the U.S. and Canada are highly entrepreneurial; however, specific barriers often impede their endeavors. What are these barriers, and how can we reshape our policies and systems to better enable refugees to start businesses? #RefugeesThrive
That's why CEO provides business loans to clients of @RESCUEorg Community Navigator Pilot Program which is designed to help small business owners access the programs and supports they need to re-build and grow thriving businesses.

A1: Access to reliable transit is a must for anyone seeking a job in America. Owning a car in increases the likelihood of employment. Many of our auto loan recipients use their vehicle to increase the amount of jobs they can apply for and hours they can work.
#RefugeesThrive
Q1: Research has shown that refugees of all education levels bring tremendous value to the communities that welcome them. One key is commensurate employment. How do we ensure refugees have full access to labor markets? #RefugeesThrive
Our #RefugeesThrive Twitter chat is starting in 5 minutes! Tune in as we discuss refugee inclusion efforts in the U.S. & Canada, in recognition of #RefugeeWeek2022
