ITEF’s 40-Year Timeline: Foundation (Pre-1986) The FCC created the Instructional Television Fixed Service (ITFS), reserving broadcast spectrum for educational use and allowing schools and nonprofits to hold instructional TV licenses. More ITEF history is coming soon—stay tuned!

ITEF was proud to join YouthBridge Community Foundation to support The Philanthropy Lab-WashU. Students partnered w/ITEF to create the Gateway Education Foundation & awarded a grant to College Bound on 4/16. Since launching, WashU students have directed $600K to STL nonprofits!
