No matter how low your ELO is, you can always hit legend and beyond. What matters is the right mindset and willingness to adapt.
I went from lowest possible ELO to a leaderboard finish in a relatively low # of games.
(300 -> 3286)
Summary:
🏅My goals were primarily to get resources. I also wanted to see how far I could climb again, knowing I don’t have time to play all my sets during the event week.
I also committed to playing random / different teams until I reach 2000

📅 May 21st
📉I hit 300 ELO, the lowest possible
💀I lose my very first climbing battle at 300 😂
📈I consistently climb up on 5-0 or 4-1 sets until about 2300 ELO (over several days)
——
📅 May 24th
📊I get stuck for 3-4 sets in the 2500-2600 range
🥱I admittedly get a bit frustrated and I start to lose interest in the challenge so take a couple days off

📅 May 26th
🛠️ I commit to a single team and make appropriate move set adjustments, inspired by my teammates in Portland.
📈 Team consistently nets me 4-1s, 5-0s

📅 May 27th
🪙 Manage to hit legend again, which in all, took me just under 350 battles (roughly half the battles I could have played during GO Battle Week)
——
( 130 games saw me climb another 280 points)
I think a key piece of advice for being successful at various ELO is a willingness to adapt and test assumptions, particularly move sets or team order.
At times I find myself too inflexible, and it’s likely the lesson I’ll take into next season.
