I think I’ve discovered why Victor Scott has been struggling at the plate lately. #ForTheLou

I know what what happend last year! ✋️ He told us at Winter Warm Up this year. He was extra fatigued after the 2024 season and took extended rest after the season to rest and recover and it took him longer to ramp up in spring of 2025, which if you remember leading into the season everyone was concerned because his velo was down going in, he was able to get the velo back but it caused him to get out of whack mechanically which lead to his inability to land his secondary stuff and he was searching for the release point almost all season and games just snowballed on him because he couldnt rely on anything but his fastball. Normal offseason in 2026. Normal progression. Higher quality results for a dependable 3-4 starter!

Andre Pallante career as a starter outside 2025: 3.72 ERA, 44 starts, 242.1 innings, 224 hits, 84 BBs, 190 Ks, 3.96 FIP Not sure what happened but Pallante has been a solid starting pitcher for the Cardinals outside last year. #stlcards

Worth noting that Pallante had a 4.30 xERA and 4.16 xFIP last year. Not great but not nearly as bad as the surface stats. There is a lot to like there for a #4 type SP. If you like ground balls then you gotta love Pallante.

The Quick Case to Keep Dustin May: -Contend in 2026 -No other reliable top of the rotation options in the org for near future -You must find good pitching ASAP to pair with our good offense -Qualifying offer, likely Comp A draft pick comp if extension fails #stlcards

What if Dustin May is the next Chris Carpenter? 28 year old scrap heap find who once had top of the rotation expectations. Finally stays healthy and puts it all together. #stlcards

I’ve never been rewarded quicker for a hot take. Dustin May is really talented. #stlcards

The Cardinals led every game in the 7th inning vs Minnesota and ended up losing the series. I don’t like this tribute to the San Antonio Spurs. #stlcards

For the “sell no matter what crowd”, I don’t think you’re getting much for Jo Jo Romero in a trade. 5.31 ERA and 4.68 FIP over his last 20 innings *before* this disaster appearance. #stlcards

This was a classic rebuild. Sell off good vets, let unproven youth play, take on a vet project or two. The goal was to get to the likely lockout with financial flexibility in an uncertain market, young core pieces, and a deep farm system. Bloom and Co did it well. #stlcards

It was never a rebuild and always a reset to a small market model with a focus on player development aimed at being competitive at a much lower payroll. This year is not a happy accident.

Let’s take a look at Kyle Leahy and Matthew Liberatore’s Baseball Savant pages. Hmmm…that’s a lot of blue. That extension for Leahy though! #stlcards

Would you be upset with this rotation: Dustin May Mike McGreevy Andre Pallante Hunter Dobbins Quinn Mathews/Brycen Mautz I wouldn’t for the next 4 weeks. Giving runway to new players is working great in the lineup. Earn your role. #stlcards

We’re like a week away from Liberatore heading to AAA or the bullpen and Quinn Mathews getting the call at the rate Chaim Bloom is operating. Warranted. #stlcards

I get that we are in a “rebuild” but you have a big chunk of the 2028 team in STL. Walker, JJ, Winn, Herrera, Burly, McGreevy. It’s not old vets. Why wouldn’t you add arms, go for the playoffs, & build a winning culture now? 6 picks in the top 86 will stock the farm. #stlcards

1: Affordable arms. I’m not talking Rainiel & Doyle for Skubal. I’m talking 2022 Jose Quintana to push Leahy to the bullpen. 2: How many mid level prospects can you have?? We’re not getting huge returns for Jo Jo and O’Brien. A playoff spot is more valuable right now.

3 for 3. Am I Chaim Bloom? Maybe. #stlcards
-Get Nootbaar back, send Saggese down -Trade Gorman anywhere for anything and call Blaze Jordan up and give him Gorman’s runway at 3B. It’s just not working in STL -Call Jimmy Crooks up. Send Pozo down Rebuild and compete at the same time. #stlcards

I was absurdly correct about this now that Blaze has been called up. Why wasn’t he playing 3B every day at AAA since he was days away from a callup? Odd but hey… overall I’m just glad they made the move. #stlcards
It’s odd that Blaze Jordan isn’t playing any 3B lately. Seems like they should be preparing him for a 3B tryout this season. He has 1 error in 74 starts at 3B at ages 22/23. That’s not super informative but it’s also not useless info. #stlcards
