Breaking down the court where the Knicks won their first NBA championship since 1973. Never thought I’d see it… Good night from the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio. It’s been a blast.

Walt Frazier on Jalen Brunson: He is one of the greatest Knicks ever. He's got to be mentioned with me and Ewing and Willis. He was invincible. Unstoppable.

The Knicks are champions of the NBA. It actually happened. What a wonderful and memorable night for New York.

I know this has been going on all postseason, but the number of Knicks fans here is pretty wild. You look away for a second and hear a roar and you're conditioned to think the home team is making a play...and then you look up and see a New Yorker driving to the goal. Crazy.

This Knicks magical run for a title has been missing only one thing--The Captain, Willis Reed, enjoying it with Clyde & friends. His wife Gale was at Game 4. "I just wish Willis was here to see it," she said. On New York's forever king of pain... nytimes.com/athletic/7353092…

As soon as Jose Alvarado made this move to get the Knicks closer...I thought of Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal.

A Taylor Swift story at Madison Square Garden, years ago, backstage area where she's dancing here. I was entering the tunnel to the court when I saw Swift walking toward me. Alone, no security. I moved to the side. As she walks thru a young man heads toward her shouting her name. Pretty aggressively. He wants a picture with her. I don't/didn't know how she's known to handle such situations, but again she was alone & this guy was loud. I almost wanted to act like security and usher him away. But Swift couldn't have been nicer. She very calmly and graciously took the photo and I believe she might've signed something for him too. Anyway, you do learn something about people when nobody's looking. Or when only one person is looking.

Wife's text with the Knicks down about 25, heading to 29: "Well I can go to bed early." My response from the Madison Square Garden press box: "Don't think it's over yet. ...But close." My column on the greatest Garden event I've ever attended: tinyurl.com/yv3vdejh

All of these Knicks belong to the ages after Madison Square Garden’s greatest basketball night. But the one who was about to be the biggest loser, James Dolan, ended up winning more than all. nytimes.com/athletic/7348703…

I was here for the 94 and 99 Finals, the Larry Johnson 4-point play, a ton of other huge Knicks moments. Tonight’s historic comeback is the greatest thing I’ve ever witnessed in Madison Square Garden.

Smattering of boos at the Garden as the Knicks walk off down 27 points at the half. I wouldn't put anything past Jalen Brunson & Co., so I don't think this game is over. But the crowd was way too focused on the refs than the actual playing of the game.

End of first quarter and the Garden feels a bit like a Tuesday night in January. Knicks need to hit back against the Spurs and get this crowd back into it.
