Volusia County Schools is continuing to closely monitor Hurricane Milton in collaboration with Volusia County Emergency Management. The storm is expected to bring winds, heavy rain and potential flooding to our area starting on Wednesday.
To allow staff and families additional time to prepare for the storm, 𝐓𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭. 𝟖, 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐲. All schools will let out one hour earlier than usual, at which time students and staff may leave. All after-school activities, except for Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP), will be canceled on Tuesday. The board workshop scheduled for Tuesday afternoon will be moved to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, and the board meeting will be moved to 1 p.m.
𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭. 𝟗, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐎𝐜𝐭. 𝟏𝟎. All after-school activities, including EDEP, will be canceled Wednesday and Thursday. Information about possible changes to Friday, Oct. 11, will be communicated as soon as it is available.
