Just finished a Fall secondment at
@uOttawaEdu. My feedback from students has always been how much they appreciate and value the courses from teachers “in the field”. I’ve long believed we need to move towards an apprenticeship model. Teaching is a craft that must be honed.
I have a beef with some Bachelor of Education Programs.
Please - enough theory & more practical!
Can you show me where we are teaching new educators about real life kids?
(Managing Behavior, Executive Function, Big Emotions, De-escalation, Planning for Unique Learners, etc)
