Cuyahoga County is giving Laila Edwards a hometown celebration 🥇👏
County Executive Chris Ronayne and Councilman Michael Houser will proclaim Sunday, June 14 as Laila Edwards Day and present her with the Key to the County during the Dream Big Parade in Cleveland Heights.
Edwards, who grew up skating at the Cleveland Heights Community Center, made history as the first Black woman to compete for the U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey Team and helped Team USA win gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
