I'm for learning, sharing and living to our best. I’m for family and friends. I’m for beach walks. I’m for best practice disability access. l'm for libraries.
In what world are these wheelchair seats at Costa Hall @GeelongArts? Apparently we get to pay for these seats but actually seated in the aisle where the view is the back of other seats and the pillar.
Big shout out to Two Way Street for creating AAC chat boards for National Simultaneous Story Time supporting non-verbal readers who want to chat about The Speedy Sloth. #NSStwowaystreet.com.au/product/…
@Ticketek_AU I’ve been on hold for 50 minutes so far to book accessible parking for Melbourne and Olympic Park. Can you explain again how this process is accessible or even remotely equitable? Even doable? I’d be happy to jump through some hoops, just a bit hard in a wheelchair.
Seriously@Ticketek_AU!!!! An operator finally answered the phone, spoke for a minute then put me on hold again before the line disconnects. I call back and get a recorded message that as it’s 5:01pm my call will not be answered. You can’t even finish a call started before 5pm?
Out and about today and I needed somewhere quiet to check some emails and gather my thoughts. Wondering where I could do this when a park appeared right outside the local library. All sorted! #MargieVisitsLibraries

Congratulations to #ALIADisability on the great success of your first online professional development event. It's exciting to see so many people interested in improving library services for people living with disability. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done! @ALIANational
Some of the best experiences in my career have been as part of an organising committee for professional conferences. If you want to chat about what it's like being part of one of these projects please contact me. Happy to be a sounding board. Guessing @RobThomson2528 is likewise.
We are seeking expressions of interest from ALIA Groups and Committees who would like to contribute to LibTech 2023.
ALIA has prepared information on how to prepare an EOI to assist interested parties - email events@alia.org.au for more.
EOIs close 28 March.
Thanks to @geelonglibrary I’m picking up my hold today for book club. I’ve been listening to the audiobook version but needed a print copy to take to lunch as the clubbers think audio is cheating. We all know you can’t argue with the girls from book club! #MargieVisitsLibraries
I’ve spend most of my career in non-traditional roles within our industry. We should never underestimate the breadth of opportunities to use our skills.
Australian library professionals in non-traditional roles are invited to participate in a survey surveymonkey.com/r/59ZKXWP. Findings of the survey will be presented at the @aliaconference
My best Valentines Day memory is an elderly library patron bringing me roses from her garden. She reminded me that when I had issued her loans 3 weeks earlier I'd mentioned the due date was Valentines Day and she was pleased to have a hint of romance in her life #LibraryLoversDay

Re-entry Toolkits: Helping the Formerly Incarcerated at the Library. Reading about this program both delights and dismays me. I'm so sad the program is needed, but so happy this library has stepped up to provide services for those leaving prison. bit.ly/3qWtSl0
