📣 Today I’m excited to share an IMPORTANT update on where we’re headed with VR & Worlds.
Over the past year, we’ve listened to feedback from developers and creators. One thing was clear: both communities needed more focus and clearer direction.
Starting in 2026, VR & Worlds will operate as two distinct platforms:
- VR is focused on third-party developers, with the Meta Horizon Store restructured around apps and games instead of Worlds.
- Worlds is going mobile-first, with dedicated tools to build for mobile.
We remain the largest investor in VR, and we’re building both platforms to support the long term success of our creator and developer communities.

State of the Quest ecosystem: Horizon home is stuck loading forever with CPU cranked to 8. By the time you launch your app, the headset can't keep the cpu at level 8 so loading is sluggish and the SoC is at high temperature. It's been like this for 8 months...

VR has been a thing since 2016. You can get a VR for less than a Quest🤦♀️
You don’t need a "Apple Vision Pro", you don’t need a "Steam Frame". This can do everything those things can do and more. #vr
