Anas Sarwar on why Labour isn't scrapping the two child benefit cap - "We're the Labour party and we believe the best way out of poverty is work."
This is a major gaff from Sarwar. This could have come straight out of a Conservative manifesto.
Did you know, the North Inch and South Inch in Perth is Common Good land? Common Good assets needs to be managed within statutory duties. landcommission.gov.scot/our-…
Just to dispel some myths, the North Inch golf course was only in its present form in the 19th century, not seen on early maps. This book is excellent - and states that there’s no evidence that the King ever played on it.
It’s soup weather. The Balhousie St GoT box has some soup kits with veg, stock cube, lentils and spices to make spiced carrot soup. Delicious, nutritious and quick to make. Also a piece of Mrs O’s sourdough focaccia in the bag. #soup#winterwarmer#homemadesoup#vitamind

The North Inch public park has flooded twice this month. @PerthandKinross have installed petrol-powered pumps with leaky hoses. Public money & common good land. A PKC spokesperson said this is to allow the golf course to operate & generate income. 🤷♂️ @andywightman#StormBabet

The North Inch is a public park, common land for the use of everyone. In its past it has been used by the people of Perth to grow crops and graze livestock. There was even a footbridge from it across the Tay. @Dollydi26969910@JillBelch@andywightman#biodiversity#commongood
Very interested to read about the work of the European Golf Association on biodiversity of golf courses. “golf courses need to become actors in the protection of the wildlife they host.” No evidence of this at our North Inch park. @EGAgolf@InchNorth@PerthandKinross
Glyphosphates are routinely used on grassland in the North Inch. It is apparently “the most effective” way of controlling “weeds” on the park. This is partly because much of the common land has been taken over by a golf course.
Great to see the legacy of the great GoT box continues. Hardship is still very much present for what ever reason, so please keep your local GoT box topped up if you can! @CraigiePrimary
The giant hogweed presence is rampant this year, particularly on the waters edge along the Almond. The plant releases sap which causes burns, blisters and photosensitivity which can last years. Keep dogs and children well away. ⛔️
