Hydrogen isn't a "climate solution". It's strategic, cutting edge. China has adopted hydrogen as a strategic tech, the replacement for batteries. Europe has bottomed out after the green-hydrogen post-hype crash, though EU policies are too strict and less pragmatic. CBAM is an entry ticket to the EU market, much more than the "entry barrier" people see it as. Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, CEO of Hydrogen Europe, and former EU MP, at #ICGH25 @MNREindia

Congrats @SECI_Ltd on India’s first green ammonia reverse auction. 75,000 TPA at Rs 55.75/kg ($641/MT), a globally competitive low price. With @ntpclimited's 70,000 TPA at Rs 51.80/kg (~$621/MT), these milestones will kick-off #fertilizer offtake in India. bit.ly/3HhHGBd

IH2A's analysis shows a 10% #HPO for 39 existing sites, 17 refineries & 22 ammonia plants, could cover 6,72,000 tonnes or 45% of India’s 2030 #greenhydrogen target. For new/expanded plants, @Indiah2a recommends 100% HPO to deliver remaining 849,000 tonnes. bit.ly/4k8UGXt

Green Hydrogen's Moment of Truth? My opening keynote at the 9th Annual Conference on Green Hydrogen in India, on behalf of India Hydrogen Alliance, was a reality check on green hydrogen, past the hype. While India makes and uses 7 million tonnes of hydrogen annually, green hydrogen remains a tiny fraction, 3 years into the National Green Hydrogen Mission. But this can change - very quickly - with a policy tweak, and the $4-5B on the table from WB, EIB et al for green hydrogen in India can finally be used. The policy tweak? HPOs: Hydrogen Purchase Obligations.
