Land acquisition is now being prioritised to fast-track the project. Work on the Nandigram railway project is also moving ahead, with 74 of the required 80 acres already secured. Chandrima Jha, a bank employee, was riding home on a scooter with a colleague after work in District Malda, West Bengal. She was chased by three scooter-borne assailants who tried to snatch her bag. She tried to resist, fell from the scooter and was fatally run over by a truck. The assailants, Sabir Sheikh, Hanif Sk and Mobarak Sk of Sujapur were nabbed by the police from CC Camera and arrested.
